Friday Night Lights
I love this photo from this past Friday Night Lights. It really represents this workout. The focus of Lindsay Winn, the pain and frustration from Chris Delangis and the joy of Andrea Stringer. Then if you were able to expand this photo you would see the support of the CFTP family as they cheered on their friends.

My Why
When I first started CrossFit The Point, I really didn’t understand what we were creating. I just loved CrossFit and loved fitness and wanted to share it with everyone.
As time has gone on, I’ve come to realize that while CrossFit and Fitness has been my focus and seeing people come in and accomplish their goals will always be at the forefront of my programming and training, that isn’t my sole focus anymore.
This CFTP family suffered a huge loss this past week when our friend, brother, and healer, Pat Garcia lost his sweet wife. She has left behind a huge void and left Pat and his three boys to start a new chapter without her. It has been a heart-wrenching week.
Within this pain I have been uplifted by all of you and your willingness to serve Pat and his family during this time. I received word about Josie passing away early Thursday morning and by the time I got back to my phone after coaching the morning hours I had texts and messages from so many of you asking how you can help.
Pat showed up that morning to workout and to see you all embrace him and console him lifted my spirits.
Pat has a long road ahead of him and will need all the support we can give him but I know that you all will be there for him. I know that Pat will have the support of his CFTP/Point Fitness family and will be able to overcome this tragedy.
I want to thank you all for your support and for being examples of what it means to serve those in need and comfort those in need of comfort.

I hope we all are able to always remember what’s most important. With the Open we all have aspirations to climb the gym leaderboard and to put up our best score but at the end of the day, what we will remember isn’t who won the open but who was in our corner cheering us on. Who was cheering us on the loudest when we needed the extra push. Who went out of their way to console us when the workout didn’t go as planned. Who took the extra time to provide strategy tips or advice. Who helped us change our weights or volunteered to stay an extra 20 minutes and was a judge for us.
This, in my opinion, is what is most important. This is what makes working out at The Point more than just “working out at The Point”.
I can’t wait for this week’s final Friday Night Lights! I love seeing you all and being able to watch as you put forth your full effort and also stick around and cheer on your teammates.

Schedule change and added classes!
With winter finally upon us, we have decided to change our Saturday morning CrossFit classes to 8, 9 and 10 AM. 8 and 9 AM will be regular CrossFit classes and 10 AM will be open gym.
We will also be changing the Myofascial Rolling/ Yoga class to 9 AM.

CrossFit Teens
With the popularity of our Youth CrossFit ages 6-14, we have decided to extend that to our teenagers!
Starting tomorrow we will be offering a Teens CrossFit class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. This class will be for teenagers ages 14-18 and will be a little higher skill and will begin to add some barbell at modified weights from the adult classes. This class will be $60/month. If after a while your teens decide they’d like to attend more than the two offered classes a week, we have a teen unlimited option for $85/month and they will be able to attend the adult classes with you. In the beginning, until they get accustomed to the movements, you will be required to attend the class with them if they choose this option. They will also have the option of adding Chad’s Olympic Lifting classes at our current discounted rate for members if they’d like to attend that on Tuesdays and Thursdays and get a full week of workouts in.

I am super excited about the direction of our Youth programs here at Point Fitness/CrossFit The Point. I’ve wanted to get this going for years and to see it happening makes me really excited.
