Good afternoon Point Fitness,
To start out today, I’d like to congratulate Chelsea Zorn and Kelsey Ellis for their participation in yesterday’s Battle of The Box competition. You both represented us well with a 6th place finish amongst some great competition. Be sure to congratulate these two ladies for the display of fitness they demonstrated this past weekend.
I also want to thank Coach Mandy Turner and Terra Nielsen. They took it upon themselves to represent Point Fitness at the Summit Academy Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday. Her and Terra Nielsen ran the booth and helped spread awareness of our awesome Point Fitness programs. Thank you ladies!
Now that I have kids I have started to realize just how important it is to help them develop good habits from a young age. Many of you have been my examples in this. I love seeing posts about your children competing in different sports and activities. I love seeing your whole family out hiking and staying physically fit with different activities. I think one of the most important things you can teach your kids is the importance of taking care of their bodies.
On that note… I am excited to rollout our upcoming youth fitness classes that will start in October.
Starting next Monday we will be offering Youth CrossFit classes for ages 6-15. These classes will be from 4:45 PM – 5:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. The cost for these classes will be $50/month or 10 punches for $75.
I am super excited to be able to finally offer this on an ongoing basis. I truly believe that we can offer a program that will teach your children the importance of fitness. We will teach them about being healthy and making healthy choices. These classes will teach them accountability and teamwork. It’ll teach them everything that we have learned as adults since joining CrossFit The Point.
The classes offered here will be similar to the adult classes but obviously modified for the different children’s ages. We will split into two groups, a younger and an older class. These classes will teach balance and strength and body control. They will also help your children gain better flexibility and help them prevent injury during their other sports and activities. It will keep them well-rounded and teach them healthy habits.
Like I said, I am super excited about being able to offer this ongoing youth program. Also, starting in November, we will be rolling out our team training 6-week programs for the different youth teams. (Soccer, Football, Lacrosse, etc) If you have children in these different sports and would be interested in having their teams train at The Point, please contact me and we’ll get them a time slot starting in November.
We will also be bringing back Youth Muay Thai starting the same week! Those classes will be Tuesday and Thursday 4 PM for the 4-7 year olds and 4:30 PM for the 8-12 year olds. We will offer a package deal if your child would like to attend both the Youth Muay Thai classes and the Youth CrossFit classes.
We also have an awesome Olympic Lifting program that would greatly benefit many of your teenage age kids. Coach Chad does an excellent job of coaching correct mechanics and helping them build strength. If you have kids who are in their teenage years and need to build strength for their various sport endeavors, I’d highly recommend them join Chad on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I will provide the link for that below as well.

I am really excited to coach your children and to coach the next generation. Like I said above, I think there is so much that can be learned by our youth through CrossFit and through lifting and martial arts. The lessons learned through physical activity will transfer into their lives and make them successful adults.
