Good Afternoon CFTP,
Nearing the end of the year and I am really excited about everyone’s progress this year. I’ve been thinking back on this past year and thinking about each of you and the progress you have made. It truly is incredible what you all have been able to accomplish physically and mentally.
With The Open coming up, you will start to see a little shift in the way our day to day workouts run. We’ll start doing this a little this week and after we are done with this week and next week’s maxes we’ll be in full swing. We’ll be looking at a longer warmup and setup time period with the SWOD and WOD blending together afterwards. Meaning, once we start working out, we will only be taking breaks that are timed and counted. The separation between the different workouts for the day will be a little more structured. I’m excited to see how this goes.
I am really excited about this Saturday night at 8 PM. We will be having a beast mode! At Beast Modes, we get together and all complete a WOD together. Trainers and athletes coming together at the same time and workout. It’s a fun atmosphere and everyone is invited. It may be called Beast Mode but that doesn’t mean it isn’t scaleable just like our day to day WODs are. So come out and join us on Saturday.
Another exciting thing starting next month is that we will be putting on monthly skills workshops! Every third Saturday of the month we will be opening the gym doors for everyone to come in and get help on certain skills. We will have the training team there and we will all be there to give tips on certain movements and certain skills. The first skills workshop will be on Saturday, January 18th at 11 AM. Mark your calendar!
In the first installment of this skills workshop, we will be going over Rowing/Skiing/Biking and Bar and Ring Muscle Ups and Double Unders. If you feel you could use a little more one on one time in these areas, please come! It is free of charge and we will spend an hour or two helping you out in these different areas. Every month there will be different skills that we will focus on. I will announce the skills prior to the workshop.
I am super excited about the upcoming year. I am very excited to see how you all do this week with the retest of the Front Squat, Snatch, Clean, and Jerk.
