Good Evening CFTP Members,

It is with heavy heart I talk with you all today. I am so grateful for the sacrifice of our service members. Military, police, fire fighters, EMT, etc… They are perfect examples of how service can change lives. Tomorrow we are planning to have a memorial WOD for the 19 firefighters who lost their lives in Arizona. They were the best of the best and they laid down their lives protecting us. Just this morning we had a terrible incident involving someone right here in our region. Draper Police Department’s Sergeant Johnson was shot down while responding to a call in Draper. While we do tomorrow’s WOD I would ask you all to think about the sacrifice of all these young men. They inspire me to be better and to do all I can to change the lives of those around me. I hope that we can come together as a CrossFit community to do all we can to help the family members of these fallen heroes.

Because of my military background I have had the opportunity to serve with the most amazing and selfless people around. They put themselves into harms way because they know that by doing so they will in some way keep us safer. We have many people in our CFTP community who are service members and are out there everyday protecting us. Take a minute this week to say thank you. They are true heroes and are willing to lay down their lives for us.

CrossFit is special in many ways. One way is the way we celebrate the lives of those who have fallen. We have hero WODs dedicated to these individuals so that we can remember them and what they did. Their actions will not be forgotten. When you joined the CFTP community you joined a community that cares for each other and who remembers sacrifices made in order to keep us safe. We can all make a difference and make an impact on those affected by tragedies such as this one.

Thank you all for your willingness to respond when asked. I am so grateful to be a part of such a generous community. Please keep Sergeant Johnson and his family in your prayers.
